Hudson Partners was founded by Wall Street executives who recognize that managers prefer to pursue their fundraising objectives alongside senior executives who have the depth of experience, industry expertise, knowledge of diverse marketplace trends, and solid relationships across the investment community that are all essential to raising a fund.

Tom Blair

Senior Managing Director

Prior to joining Hudson Partners Securities, Mr. Blair was the Managing Director of SSY Capital, the investment banking division of Simpson, Spence, and Young (SSY), a privately held ship brokerage firm.  Previously, Mr. Blair was the Managing Member of Integrated Finance Capital, a boutique investment bank focusing on Special Situation Finance opportunities in the real estate, media, insurance and energy sectors. Mr. Blair was a Managing Director at Bear Stearns & Co, Inc., where he was a senior structured finance banker and the Global Calling Officer for select Finance and Energy clients. Previous to joining Bear Stearns, Mr. Blair was an institutional fixed income salesman. Mr. Blair started his Wall Street training at Goldman Sachs in the Mergers and Acquisitions department.

Mr. Blair graduated from Colby College with a degree in Economics.

Mike Finnell

Managing Partner

Prior to joining Hudson Partners, Mr. Finnell served as the CEO of Liability Solutions, Inc., a joint marketing venture between MIT Associates and Liability Solutions Ltd.  From 2002 to 2008, he was Managing Partner of MIT Associates, a placement agent focused on capital raising for hedge funds. Previously, Mr. Finnell was Managing Director of Equity Capital Markets at Bear Stearns, responsible for capital raising across a range of industries in the private, public and convertible markets. Prior to Bear Stearns, Mike had 11 years experience as a Managing Director in Equity Capital Markets at ING Barings (formerly Furman Selz) and UBS. He also has worked in debt capital markets, financial institutions investment banking, and corporate lending.

Mr. Finnell holds a BA in Political Science from St. Mary’s College of California and a graduate degree in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management in Arizona.

Peter Hamilton

Managing Partner

Prior to joining Hudson Partners, Mr. Hamilton served as Managing Director of Liability Solutions, Inc., a joint marketing venture between MIT Associates and Liability Solutions Ltd. Peter joined MIT Associates, an independent hedge fund placement firm, in 2006. Mr. Hamilton founded Hamilton Investment Partners, a firm also specializing in hedge fund and private equity placements, in 2003. Prior to Hamilton Investment Partners, he was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and Co., spending his 20 year career there in the Fixed Income Department in New York, London and Tokyo.

Mr. Hamilton holds a BA from Amherst College and an MBA from the Columbia Graduate School of Business Administration.

Earl Hedin, CFA

Managing Partner

Mr. Hedin is a founder of Hudson Partners. Previously, Mr. Hedin was a Senior Managing Director of Bear, Stearns & Co. and co-head and founder of the firm’s Private Funds Group. He was responsible for the firm’s sponsored private equity funds and headed the private equity fund-of-funds program. In addition, he structured and marketed new and existing hedge funds. His experience also includes serving as Chief Financial Officer of Bear Stearns Asset Management and as a Vice President of Bankers Trust. Mr. Hedin started his private equity career as an Associate at Morgan Stanley, where he was a member of a six-person team that structured and raised Morgan Stanley’s first outside venture capital fund.

Mr. Hedin received his M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Management at Rutgers University and his B.A. (Chemistry) from Rutgers College. He is a licensed CPA (retired), a CFA charterholder, and a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research, the New York Society of Securities Analysts and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

John Koren

Managing Partner

Mr. Koren is a founder of Hudson Partners. Previously, Mr. Koren was a Senior Managing Director of Bear, Stearns & Co. and co-head of the firm’s Private Funds Group, which he joined in 2000. From 1991 to 1999, he was a partner in the Bear Stearns Fixed Income Sales Group, where he managed the Corporate Coverage department. He also managed the International group, the Emerging Markets group, and became Worldwide Corporate High Grade Product Manager.

Previously, Mr. Koren ran the Corporate Coverage department at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Koren started his career on Wall Street with the Bank of Nova Scotia, where he rose to become Assistant Agent of their New York Agency. Following a successful tenure representing the Bank of Nova Scotia’s treasury and corporate services, he joined Singer Co. as Director of International Finance. From there, he went on to become the youngest Assistant Treasurer at Uniroyal Corporation.

Mr. Koren holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Economics from Manhattanville College, where he has served as a Trustee.

Lyn Kratovil

Senior Managing Director

Prior to joining Hudson Partners, Lyn was a Managing Partner and co-founder of Bridge I Advisors, a registered investment advisor. Bridge raised capital for alternative managers globally in emerging markets, infrastructure, buyouts, venture and special projects. Lyn worked with institutional investors including pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, family offices and consultants both in North America and globally.

Prior to Bridge, Lyn was a Vice President with Greenwich Capital Markets, now part of RBS, from 1985-2000. Lyn was a member of the institutional sales team covering state and municipal pensions, large mutual funds, corporate pension funds, banks and security lending groups, endowments and foundations. Lyn has extensive experience in the capital markets, including government bonds and mortgage securities sales and securities lending. Previously, Lyn was a Vice President at Dean Witter and Smith Barney in the Capital Markets Group.

Lyn graduated from Mount Holyoke College.
